Had a great experience this last weekend at Loews Regency. Check in was for Sunday afternoon but when we landed at 5:20am Sunday morning at JFK I called to see if we could drop off our bags and they said they would try to get our room ready which sounded amazing after a long flight. Arrived at 6:15am at the hotel and the gentleman at the front desk greeted me by name and had my room keys ready 🤯🤯. Talk about service! We were traveling with our dog and were warmly welcomed. The friendly and professional staff and attention to detail made this a fantastic stay. Lobby and restaurant are modern and bright. Rooms seem a tad dated but are large and comfortable. Hotel is meticulously clean. Location is remarkably quiet and convenient to Central Park, museums, Broadway and other key sites. A great experience!

Disappointed – Not a True 5-Star Experience In my opinion, this hotel does not live up to its 5-star rating. The rooms feel very outdated, nothing seems to have been renewed or modernized in quite some time. The building itself gives off a rather tired and gloomy atmosphere, which is far from what you’d expect at this price point. The rooms have a little kitchen inside but NO coffee machine at all!!!! Nope, keep looking. We stayed here when our flight cancelled. Scanned the reviews and thought "good enough." No, not worth the price. Not a 5-star hotel. Beds were comfortable and in-room dining was fast (but the food was "meh" so they can get you mediocre food quickly). Just scan for other hotels. The Peninsula and the Four Seasons are close by and those are great. Here's one example.
