** IMPORTANT TO KNOW BEFORE GOING** I recently just went thought a break up when my friends decided to take me to the spa to have a relaxing day. We got there and paid the 85$ + for a robe and a locker. I had brought a little back pack to keep my belongings with me on site such as toques and what not. Was nice but crowded. Massage was great, pools could be cleaner.
We were disappointed that the signature wood burning sauna was not in service. Also there was only 1 hot tub operating; The rest were cold tubs. We suspect some of those were supposed to be warm. The one operating hot tub wasn't very hot and it was packed as it was the only one. The saunas were nice, as were the eucalyptus steam rooms. Plenty of places to sit and relax, though we suspect it can get really busy when it's not shoulder season. Have been to the spa 4 times now and usually enjoy it very much. Have to say this time was very disappointed in number of people talking. My daughter did go and tell staff and they said they would come down but no one did. This is not an inexpensive day so not being able to relax was very frustrating. We went right at opening on a sat morning and even though it was not crazy busy it was the loudest it's ever been. I had a reservation for a one hour Swedish massage on Sat, Feb 18/17. It was my very 1st experience at the Scandinave Spa and I was disapointed with my customer service at the check in desk. My boyfriend called well in advance to surprise me with a gift. At my arrival I was told that the reservation was just on hold and that I had to pay the full amount myself. I tried calling on a Thursday morning, no one answered after 10 minutes listening to their message so I hung up. I called on a Friday morning and this time waiting 12 minutes for the privilege of finally speaking with a "customer service agent" kind of ironic I'd say. Anyway, they were full. I suggested they needed to do a better job on their phones and if they had answered the day before maybe I could have got an appointment. My suggestion did not seem to be received well. It was a beautiful setting, however in each of the pools there was at least 1-2 couple who thought it was okay to make out in public making it a very uncomfortable experience. There also seemed to be too many people in the area. We went at 4:30pm so thought we would miss the rush with dinner but apparently not! Not sure I'd be going back.
